Hi, guys! Welcome back to my new post. In this post, I will show you how to install Burp Suite on Kali Nethunter rootless and Termux. So let’s get started.
Before we dive into the installation process, let’s understand what Burp Suite is and what it is used for. Burp Suite is a suite of tools used for web application penetration testing. It is developed by PortSwigger, alias the founder Dafydd Stuttard.
What is Burp Suite:
Burp Suite is a powerful and valuable tool used to check the security of web applications. It helps identify bugs and vulnerabilities in web applications. Burp Suite is a proxy-based tool that allows you to test web security.
Now, let’s go through the installation process for both Kali Nethunter and Termux.
Step 1: Install Kali Nethunter Linux in your Termux app on your Android device. You can refer to the instructions in my previous post on how to install Linux Termux app and run free cloud Linux.
Step 2: Once you have installed Kali Nethunter, open Termux and log in to the root of Kali Nethunter by running the command:
Step 3: Install Burp Suite on your Kali Nethunter machine by running the following commands in Termux:
sudo apt update -y apt-get install burpsuite
Step 4: After installing Burp Suite, you will need to start the VNC server in Kali Nethunter by running the following commands:
exit nh kex &
Step 5: Once you have opened Kali in VNC, click on the Applications tab. You will find the Burp Suite application in the Web Application Analysis section.
Step 1: Update and upgrade your Android/Linux OS to avoid errors while installing Burp Suite. Run the following command:
apt-get update -y && apt-get upgrade -y
Step 2: Install the dependencies, including Java, by running the following command:
sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jre
Step 3: Download the Official Public Version of Burp Suite from the download page. Select the Linux 64-bit version and download the shell script.
Step 4: Navigate to the directory where the script is downloaded and make it executable using the following command:
chmod +x burpsuite_community_linux_v2022_12_4.sh
Step 5: Run the script with sudo rights using the following command:
Start Burp Suite:
To launch Burp Suite, click on Applications > Search > Burp Suite. This will open the Burp Suite application.
You can now use Burp Suite on your device. You can find the application in the system application finder by searching for its name.
Install Chromium for Burp Suite:
Chromium is an open-source browser developed by Google. Since Chrome doesn’t have a shoulder release, we can use Chromium as it is also developed by Google.
After adding the Debian repository, install Chromium by running the following command:
sudo apt install chromium -y
Start Burp Suite Proxy Browser:
Now that Chromium browser is installed, you can launch the Burp Suite Proxy GUI Browser by running the following command:
chromium --no-sandbox --proxy-server="127.0.0.1:8080"
